A Boy was said to multiplied by 0.72 but the number multiply by 7.2 if his result is greater than 2592 than his actual result, then find the initial number.
(A) 400 (B) 420
(C) 500 (D) 560
Soln:-
Let the initial number = x
initial multiple = 0.72
Product = x * 0.72 = 0.72x
Wrong multiple =7.2
Product = x * 7.2 = 7.2x
A/Q, 7.2x = 0.72x + 2592
Or 7.2x - 0.72x = 2592
Or x ( 7.2 - 0.72 ) = 2592
Or x ( 6.48 ) = 2592
Or x = 2592 / 6.48
x = 400 Ans.
