The sum of two numbers is 29 and the difference of their square is 145, find the difference in them.

Soln:-
Let,
1st number = x
2nd number = y
sum of two number = 29
x + y = 29 ----------------equation 1
Again difference of their square = 145
x2 - y2 = 145
( x + y ) ( x - y ) = 145
29 ( x - y ) = 145
( x - y ) = 145 / 29
x - y = 5 Ans.
